Clarisse Hart
Harvard Forest, Harvard University Director of Outreach & Education
Petersham, Mass. (Nipmuc land)
I am a principal investigator (co-I for our LTER site) and organizational leader at Harvard Forest, where I direct education, communications, and public outreach initiatives. Scaffolded on a foundation of nearly a decade as an ecological research technician in both terrestrial and marine systems, for the past 12+ years I have focused almost exclusively on science communication, land justice initiatives, student mentorship, and research/praxis related to these topics. Every day, my work as a leader and educator is guided by the lessons instilled in me by my immigrant family, as well as ongoing lessons from my Indigenous colleagues on what it means to be a respectful guest, ally, and advocate on unceded homelands.
